TMJ carplate

On Saturday night, I went out with a few friends to clarke quay for dinner and a drink. And after a few hours we got bored and decided to go clubbing. Well, one of my favourite sights while clubbing are the cars. But there were no flashy cars there that night, only thrashy ones.

Well, we went in, got a few drinks, and came out after a while due to the lousy atmosphere inside. We sat outside by the curb, took a smoke and basically just slacked around. Suddenly, we saw 2 military-looking Toyota Land Cruisers blaring their horns and edging their way through the crowd into the MOS private carpark.

What was surprising was that the car plates were just a TMJ. My friends were dumbfounded but I immediately assumed they were US Navy SEALS or something, docking at Singapore to watch the SuperBowl. Those Toyota Land Cruisers certainly were a sight to behold - modified suspensions, exhaust pipes, wheels, rims.

Well anyway the club was very boring that night and we went in again before eventually going home.

ERP higher rates, more gantries to go up! …

ERP rates, more gantries to go up - but road tax cut by 15%

OMG! What this more ERP gantries? Higher ERP Rate! Aiyo~ Wanna take Taxi also die liao~ They are try to get more cars off the road but what about Taxis? Gosh! I mean can u imagine if 1 morning u woke up late and rush down by taxi to school. You gonna hear the ERP go beep beep beep! plus the meter or tic tic tic! DIE la~

Cannot la~ in the end taxi will suffer the most coz people will either try not to be late or else just keng and take MC coz MC could be almost same price as a taxi fare~

I wonder does our school do case studies or not? maybe should do a case study on how to really help reduce heavy traffic on the roads. Seriously, all they can think about is add more ERP and build more highways. I think they are plan lazy to think of other ways really.

Lastly, this part of the news is most disliked!

“Road tax to be cut across the board
To show that ERP is not for raising Government revenue, Mr Lim announced that road tax will be cut by 15 per cent across the board, a move that will cost the Government $110 million a year. The last time road tax was cut was last September, by 8 per cent.” Full Story

They actually made it so odvious, they are trying to “raise Government revenue” and they want to make it a give and take between us and them. HUH! come on! u give 15% and take back 100% more likely! Geez~ I dunno~ the more i read the more pissed i get~ there goes my hobby of driving… so much for thinking about opening race tracks in singapore!

1 possible cause to traffic jams! Traffic Police!
30 January, 2008, 12:47 am

I was driving today on the AYE/ECP back to eastside. There was a really heavy slow moving traffic. Traffic was almost to stand-still. Guess what! K-PO Drivers wanna see what happen~ haiz~ okie I guess all drivers wanna slow to watch what happening or get 4D numbers or somthing~ When it was my turn to pass by the problem causing the jam~ DARN! Traffic Police stop some VAN  on the highway to write a ticket for the bugger! WTH! people are actually slowing down to see the Traffic police caught wat vehical?

So whos fault is it in the 1st place for the Jam? I know most people would say the drivers lor~ KPO ma! Please I think we should actually source the problem in the 1st place~

Lets see here~ If the van wasn’t speeding, it wouldn’t get a ticket right? How about even if the van was speeding, why must the traffic police stop the van on the highway, just to get public attendtion? hmm….~ can’t they do it by sumoning the van out of the highway? Problem is and i believe is the traffic police itself, they gain so much attendtion on the roads cause driver to slow down, jaming up highways etc… Yes we know that the traffic police has a role to play, but i believe it can be done better. Like today problem on the highway. The attendtion, cause drivers to KPO, thus making a big jam. So to prevent the jam would be either not to cause attendtion else is “FINE EVERYONE WHO KPO!!” hahaha~ not possible for the 2nd option.

Well i am open to suggetions to how to stop jams, without the suggetion of “Leave your car at home” or “Take public transport”. So feel free to suggest! ^^

Lamborghini Reventon

Clearly a Lamborghini, but nothing quite like it. A super car without equals: the Lamborghini Reventón is a road vehicle with an extreme specification and, at the same time, a limited edition masterpiece – a coherent style, angular with sharp lines, inspired by the very latest aeronautics.

With just 20 produced, each 1 Million Euro (without taxes) Lamborghini Reventón is a symbol of extreme exclusivity, yet still offering the extraordinary performance that makes the Reventón so unrivalled: under the completely autonomous design, the Reventón possesses the entire technical and dynamic competence of the twelve cylinder Lamborghini.

Lamborghini prides itself on being the extraordinary manufacturer of extreme super sports cars without compromise. Sensuality and provocation characterise every Lamborghini, with an aggressively innovative style. “However, the Reventón is the most extreme of all, a true automotive superlative. Our designers at the Lamborghini Style Centre took the technical base of the Murciélago LP640 and compressed and intensified its DNA, its genetic code,” affirms Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.

Born in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Lamborghini Reventón has been entirely designed in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the original birthplace of the Lamborghini and the native home of every super car born under the sign of the bull. The design drawn up in Lamborghini’s Centro Stile (Style Centre) is fine-tuned in close collaboration with the Lamborghini Research and Development Department. Thus, the Reventón is not only “haute couture” but it also stands out for its elevated dynamism whilst being entirely suitable for every day use.

The Lamborghini Reventón is not destined to remain a one-off. A total of 20 Lamborghini friends and collectors will be able to own this extraordinary car and, naturally, enjoy the incomparable pleasure of driving it.

The name Reventón has been chosen according to Lamborghini tradition. Reventón was a fighting bull, owned by the Don Rodriguez family. It is included in the list of the most famous bulls ever and is known for killing the famed bullfighter Felix Guzman in 1943.

Inspired by the fastest airplanes, the present day Lamborghini models are distinguished by the clear language of their shape. The coherent proportions of the Murciélago and Gallardo highlight their power and dynamism. Sharp edges, precise lines and clean surfaces: these are ingredients of a style reduced to the essential. Each element is created exactly according to its function; ornaments and decorations are totally foreign to a Lamborghini.

With the Reventón the Centro Stile designers have coherently developed this philosophy, inspired by another sphere where speed and dynamism reign absolute: modern aeronautics, responsible for the fastest and most agile airplanes in the world. This has created an extremely precise, technically striking style with a new vitality: interrupted lines and contorted surfaces create a fascinating play of light, giving the car incredible movement…

I took bus past a few petrol station and when i saw the petrol prices, i thought to myself “driving a car is a burden”. For the petrol prices went up like 20+ cents per each litre of petrol. Nowadays buying a car is easy, driving and maintaining it is the difficult part.
