Jokes for your post-project submission week

I don’t know about the rest of you, but for me, the project submission week just passed and I’m feeling more relaxed and carefree than I have in some weeks now. Thus I went to surf the Internet for some jokes, which I hope can cheer those people who are still stressed with their projetcs or examinations -

1) Love affairs : Something like cricket where one-day internationals are more popular than a five day test.

2) Lecture : An art of transferring information from the notes of the lecturer to the notes of the students without passing through “the minds of either”

3) Conference : The confusion of one man multiplied by the number present.

4) Compromise : The art of dividing a cake in such a way that everybody believes he got the biggest piece.

5) Tears : The hydraulic force by which masculine will-power is defeated by feminine water-power ..

6) Conference Room : A place where everybody talks, nobody listens & everybody disagrees later on.

7) Ecstasy : A feeling when you feel you are going to feel a feeling you have never felt before.

8) Classic : A book which people praise, but do not read.

9) Smile : A curve that can set a lot of things straight.

10) Office : A place where you can relax after your strenuous home life.

11) Etc. : A sign to make others believe that you know more than you actually do.

12) Committee: Individuals who can do nothing individually and sit to decide that nothing can be done together

If you do not procrastinate like I do, then I strongly suggest the busy people who are always rushing projects or studying for a quiz / term test take some time out daily from your busy schedules to read some jokes or amusing stuff to lighten up your mood and to relax for, maybe, 15 minutes. It will definitely help.

Feels like the last day of school

Filed under: Student Life in TP

Today, after my quiz in school at 10am, and a formal presentation at 4.45pm, it felt like the last day of school! From today onwards, I think there’re no more tutorials or lab sessions or lectures anymore. Just 1 more presentation and 1 more CCOM interview and everything’ll finally be over!

I went home, had my dinner, and slacked in front of the television. Its been ages since I last slacked in front of the television. Till about 11pm, I decided to go out for a jog, as I’ve got my NAPFA test tomorrow. Tomorrow also happens to be the day of the TP Career Fair. So unfortunately I won’t be able to attend the bulk of talks.

I just merely signed up for 2 talks and hope I can pass my NAPFA with a silver tomorrow. Its already 3.45am so I guess I better retire for the night, lest I am tired tomorrow during my NAPFA.

Goodnight :)

Geez~ wonder wat wrong with me~ can’t sleep b4 interview nights~ so much things on my head! gosh~ I already went for 1 actual job interview that lasted 30-45mins, how hard could ccom interview be?

Hear they said they will make on what u wear, wat u do~ dunno what else~ gosh! Anyone can give tips for ccom interview coz i kind feel the ccom isn’t real interview rather a more of a shooting session unlike actual job interviews.

Mandarin Music

Say no to piracy!

We see and hear that all over the place. But recently I went past my sister’s room and heard the most disgusting and revolting song ever. It was a mandarin song… with an english song’s tune. I then asked my sister about the song, and if all mandarin songs nowadays were just chinese words with english songs’ tunes. I haven’t listened to mandarin music in years anyway.

I then flipped through her playlist, randomly selecting songs and listening to them. And to my utter disgust, heard more mandarin songs with english songs’ tunes. My sister, and lots of others like her, can be forgiven for thinking those tunes were original and nice to listen to. But to an oldies’ buff like me, I could tell at once that those mandarin songs were just voice overs in mandarin for old english songs.

I can’t believe purists in the music industry can take such lying down. Such lack of creativity. Such lack of talent. They expect us to pay top dollar for songs now that have been produced 10 years ago? When we can just download them for free over the Internet? If so, then they must not be very intelligent… which would also explain the lack of original content in those mandarin songs.

Why should we pay for something that isn’t original anyway? They might pay royalties to the songs that they voice over, but that isn’t original, that isn’t talent. That’s just skiving. Don’t get me wrong. I like and enjoy mandarin songs. Those about 2 or 3 years back, and those of about 10 years ago too. But the quality of a lot of mandarin songs nowadays is just nonsense. I’m not generalizing and condemning mandarin songs, but they shouldn’t be taking english songs, re-recording them, and expecting us to pay for that.

Take for example, Dragostea Din Tei is a Romanian hit single by a Moldovan band called O-zone, made popular in Singapore by the Chicken Little movie. Dragostea Din Tei is loosely translated into English as “Love at first sight” or “Love from the clear blue sky”.

Some retarded Singaporean Chinese female singer, who might not even have the slightest clue as to where / what Moldova is, had to go spoil the true meaning of that song by dubbing it in mandarin into some song depicting her lack of fear of cockroaches. What originality?! What creativity?! What rubbish.

Seriously. You expect purists to pay for a romantic Romanian love song, sung in mandarin depicting the singer’s lack of fear in cockroaches?! You expect to stamp out piracy with such quality?!

Dream on.

CNY and exams

haiz once again this years cny we cant really enjoy it. Last year our exams were slightly later than exams thus everyone was unhappy as ppl had to study thru the chinese new year. This year, its abit better, but cny is during the assignments and proj submision period so this time round i think ppl will be working thru their proj thru the cny. But the nxt year will be better as the exams as slowly moving forward and means further away from cny so that we can enjoy. I advise all to study starting from nw as periodic revision really helps alot instead of doing all revision at one shot, ur brain cant take it. Anyway, the exams time table is out n u guys can go n print ur personalized exam timetable out. GD luck

Save the Earth

It getting really warm each day.
I hate it when people don’t bother.
Hey please, you are not an alien right?
Not somewhere in mars or pluto.
You’re living on Earth.

You know why supermarkets are introducing recycling bags?
That’s because plastic bags are non-biodegradable.
Some aunties just don’t understand.
And even quarrel with the cashier just because plastic bags costs 10 cents each on recycling day.

And sometimes when I know my friends switched on their aircon daily, I’ll sure nagged at them.
Seems as if they can’t live without aircon.
That’s ridiculous ok. Then move to north pole instead.

The ice are melting.. And Bangladesh is flooded every year.
They can’t grow rice.  And here we are wasting food and resources.
I hate to say this. But it’s the truth.

So what we are richer? Some things can’t be undone.
Not tomorrow. But take action  NOW!
Please don’t let this happen. =((
