ManU or Arsenal?…

place ur bets, guys.. ManU or Arsenal for the league title?

altho i support ManU, i am sad to say, i think Arsenal will win the league title… they are 3 points ahead.

ManU loves to drop points unexpectedly, and they are likely to do it again, real soon, whereas Arsenal are the consistent team.

good news for Arsenal fans - the draw at Birmingham was just a blip, dun read too much into it.  Arsenal usually bounce back in style after a set back.

What happened in Texas

A cowboy rode into town and stopped at a saloon for a drink. Unfortunately, the locals had a habit of picking on strangers. So when he finished his drink, he found his horse had been stolen. He went back into the bar, handily flipped his gun into the air, caught it above his head and fired a shot into the ceiling. ”WHICH ONE OF YOU SIDEWINDERS STOLE MY HOSS?” he yelled.
No one answered.
”ALL RIGHT, I’M GONNA HAVE ANOTHA’ BEER, AND IF MY HOSS AIN’T BACK OUTSIDE BY THE TIME I FINISH, I’M GONNA DO WHAT I DONE IN TEXAS! AND I DON’T LIKE TO HAVE TO DO WHAT I DONE IN TEXAS!”
Some of the locals shifted restlessly. The cowboy had another beer, walked outside, and his horse was back! He saddled up and started to ride out of town. The bartender wandered out of the bar and asked, ”Say partner, before you go. . .what happened in Texas?”
The cowboy turned back and said meekly, ”I had to walk home.”

Is there a cure for Procrastination?

After 3yrs of study! I learn somthing, a bad habit most of us might have!

Procrastination - is a type of behaviour which is characterised by deferment of actions or tasks to a later time.
(Simply put it, we like to do last min work!)

So does anyone have a way to fight this? Maybe we should have a topic on this in Year 1 to help fix the problem when we are in year 3. Rather then current me still finding a way to break this habit. hahaa~ well lets see your responds! :)

Temasek Polytechnic has been my second home for the past 3 years. I’ve spent almost every day in this educational institution acquiring new knowledge, and on certain days, even more time in school than at home. Temasek Polytechnic is filled with interesting sights and sounds, dedicated lecturers and tutors, and a huge number of CCAs.

I would admit my years in school haven’t been that smooth-flowing, although I did overcome those difficulties with perseverance and grit, emerging a more matured and composed person. There were peers who influenced me upon the wrong path and although I’ve walked down them, I did backtrack and set myself right again. I’ve since stopped hang around them and have moved on to better peers.

Away from school, I’m currently running a small business and I feel that has allowed me to understand the importance of certain subjects I’ve studied as I am able to apply what I’ve learnt to my business. This has enabled me to appreciate what I’m studying and feel like my time in school isn’t wasted, like what some of my peers tell me. Thus, I daresay I’ve never skipped neither lecture nor tutorial before and have a perfect attendance record… till this final semester.

Through my semesters in school, both tutors and lecturers have been very helpful and kind to me and have always been around to lend a helping hand with our projects and assist us with our tutorials. And because of such dedication, I can proudly declare that I’ve never failed any subject nor taken any supplementary papers before, although my GPA hasn’t been very high either.

On the whole, I’m very glad and didn’t regret my choice for entering Temasek Polytechnic

NUS Tea Session

“Tea Session on NUS Scholarships and Courses

Congratulations on your outstanding achievements in the polytechnic! We would like to invite you for a tea session on the scholarships and courses offered at NUS

blah blah blah”

This came by mail about a week ago and I’ve been excited ever since. The tea sessions will be held later at 3.45pm. NTU didn’t have such an event although they did have a series of talks at the Suntec Convention hall on Saturday. But I feel that going down to the school is better as we would be able to get a feel of the surroundings and studying environment.

Take NTU for example, I’ve been on a bus around the campus before noticed the hostel area looks quite unsightly… with clothes / undergarments being hung out to dry and people walking around in boxers and all that.

Well anyway the application for NUS has begun already, and will last through 20th February. Good luck for those who want to apply
