The Company & You Part 1

Hello World,

Previously I spoke about the Current Experience Of MP/SIP. This time we will focus on the relationship of the company & you.

After the first week…or later, your school supervisor will bring you to the company located somewhere anywhere in Singapore. You may feel a bit nervous, as you will be working for a empolyer at the ‘industrial level’ for the first time. The company supervisors a.k.a. Employers…will treat you as a student, however as the saying goes “First Good Impression Is Important”, that includes your attire, behavior, discipline and delivery of work.

During the first meeting, they will assign (throw) at you tasks of the project which at this early stage will make you feel uncomfortable or having the feeling of “Its Impossible”. Naturally as they assign it to you, you and your friends will start looking at each other with the same feeling “OMG, can this be done?”. The good news is that your school supervisor will be there to filter tasks and assignments that are not suitable at your level. Still, based on my experience we still had the same feeling as mentioned above. At the end of the day, there will be smiles but expectations will be in the minds of the company and your school supervisor as well….so do a good job.

I always remember this saying my Supervisor, Khin Ann Mon, told me “First Impression is Important”. Though you maybe visiting them in home clothes, your expressions, attentivesness and confidence will be the turning point of the future meetings with the company.

“The way to happiness, is to like what you do”

World Cup on BIG screen @ Temasek Poly

Sorry for not blogging for some time…  and for this late posting about the World Cup… which has ended liao, but….

Remember that time Temasek Poly screened the World Cup semi final matches “Live” on BIG screen at our Convention Centre?..It was a Friday evening, 30 June 06.  It was one hellava big event, the mood was electrifying.  You know, when 2 or 3 or more are gathered together in the name of World Cup, the excitement level goes up a few notches.  It’s not the same as watching it alone, believe you me…

When Germany scored the equaliser against Argentina late in the game, the whole auditorium erupted into a fenzy.  Apparently, there were many Germany fans in there… There was one section, of cos, the Argentina supporters, who sat quiet.  Poor chaps.

Anyway, a picture speaks a thousand wordds.  So here are some photos taken in the Temasek Poly Convention Centre, right in the heat of the matches….

Were any of you fellow bloggers there?  Can share your experience?  Did you stay till the end of the second match at 5.00am, and then whacked away at the free breakfast provided by TP?

if you went off early, too bad…. but the breakfast was superb. … especially after a night of soccer, even normal sandwiches with scrambled eggs, pan-fried bacon and a slice of cheese can taste like heaven!  And normal coffee can suddenly smell like the aroma of freshly brewed original Brazillian blend that makes you think of Ronaldo and Ronaldhino when you put the steaming concoction to your parched lips…

Cheers, and thanks to TP for organising such a great event for both our eyes and our stomachs!
