what what what
you know.. i always wonder, is engineering school that boring? are we engineers that low class or something? i go out with so many other friends from different school and they always say that engine students are easy to pick out..
for example, by the way we dress.. others say we are plain and simple.. people in design school are known to have outrageous taste of fashion and somehow, no one else from their own school would point out and say he/she’s weird.. but if you dress up very differently in engine school, people around you will point you out and talk about how ridiculous you look..
ive seen people in design school wearing clothes that don’t match colours or shoes but still look good.. and i tell you, NO ONE from there would say anything.. okay not really no one, but not many.. but how come it happens here in engine.. i tried coming to school with a pink top and a green skirt and EVERYONE juz stared and snigger when i walk past.. and its only 2 colours! i was just trying.. hehe
would anyone try outrageous outfits and snap others out of it so that they accept what we wear?wad do you think?
Ghosts, Ghouls, Souls, Spirits, Demons, the Unknown
The traditional 7th month has begun. Chinese believe that it’s when the gates of hell open, and the dead pour out into the living world.
You can’t see them, but they are everywhere. The seat next to you in the bus might look empty, but it is not.
Rows of cinema seats are chained off, specially reserved for guests from the netherworld.
At those roadside “geitai” shows, dozens of chairs are placed in front of the stage - but they are not for people to sit on; they’re for the non-people to sit on. Well, you may sit if you don’t mind sharing your place with an unseen visitor.
It’s been said that during the Chinese 7th month, if you suddenly feel your hair standing on end, it means a spirit is within arm’s length from you. You’d be advised to move out of that area quickly.
Not everyone is “fortunate” enough to experience or encounter spirits. If you are one of the fortunate few, please share your experience…

Why students pick engineering course ??
Well, i have alot of eng friends, but they are complaining about their courses that they have choosen. why is this so, if this is not the course that you are interested, why you choose this course in the first place?? Maybe eng students out there can help me answer my friends and give them advise on how to enjoy theirselves in the eng courses ??

Scholars’ Choice Preview 2006
for the 6th time running, the straits times’ scp2006 was held today at suntec singapore ballroom. there were 2 sections, exhibiton & seminar.
the seminar started off with a performance by Jay the Juggler. many applauded to his juggling 3 razor knifes while standing on a “rolling teeter-totter”. next up was tips on applying to US & UK universities. the US speaker was more informative while the UK speaker was a little more relaxed & humourous. after tt was a chat with our local scholars. well it seemed to me tt it wun b easy for polytech students to get a scholarship. the local scholars were frm nt juz JCs, but top JCs like RJ, HCJ & NJ. & as expected many attended the seminar are also frm these JCs. i was outcasted T_T. anyway the scholars did freaking well in their studies. 1 of ‘em was frm Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), 1 of the best technological universities in the world. rite nw all of them are doing very well, 1 iz a journalist in SPH, & the rest working in LTA, SPF, SAF, etc.
the last programme was a hilarous one. the speaker Jeffery Goh frm Cyber Eureka cracked many jokes but at the same time, taught us the 7ups to making personal choices.
1. Wake up: To possibilities in choice of scholarships
2. Wise up: Time is precious, not to waste in unproductive activities
3. Look up: To role models
4. Reach up: For excellence/best effort
5. Lift up: Be an encourager
6. Fire up: Be passionate
7. (i 4got wat this was but): prepare action plan & act on decision.
the seminar was satisifactory though, coz there wasn’t any talks on studying in korea =(
lastly to those who wish to further study in us/uk, here are some useful resources:
US: USEIC http://www.useic.org/
UK: British Council http://www.educationuk.org.sg/
end. lol.
time time time
Have you everfelt dat you have sooo many things to do.. datelines to meet.. but so little time?? yea.. i do.. i ALWAYS do.. my parents n teachers say its because i cant manage my time EFFECTIVELY.. but you see, i’ve got soo many things to do, that managing my time doesnt cross my mind.. but it does occur to me that if i handle time wisely, everything will be done more smotthly without panicking at the last minute..
especially now.. i have projects, assignments, study for exams, family time, personal time.. how do u do all that?? and wanting to noe all that, i missed Sahfari’s talk about how he manage his time even though he had alot of commitments.. did anyone attend it? that was a talk i really regret missing..
and today, since its a weekend, i had to force myself to stay home to revise, do project and study for my upcoming tests.. and i’m not even a bright student.. i have to study twice as much as many other people who are not as slow as me.. hehe..
so now.. even if i have lots of things to do.. i end up wasting time!! aaarghh.. its really really annoying you noe..like now.. my whole family is going out and i had to stay home.. im trying to just study or complete my project.. i hope i can do it.. i better go start now!
Adios!
Experience of encounting spiritual happenings
many people would say they dont believe in spiritual happenings because they’ve never encounter/seen one with their own eyes before. sometimes it could be part of your own imagination because you are too tired and it was late. you wouldnt know whether its your imagination or its a real encounter. however, just be extra careful when you are out in late midnight because you might not know what you would see, even if its not the 7th month.
for me, i’ve encounter once and it happens to be when im home. i was tired but i knew i was half asleep, i opened my eyes and i saw a blur white figure walking infront of my bed approaching me, but i wasnt scared. i didnt think much and slowly, i was like in my dreams. i seem to know this person very well, we chatted, laughing happily. i still remember it was a lady. it wasnt during the 7th month period either. slowly, this lady told me that she had to leave because someone is coming into my room. i tried so hard to pull her back but yet she disappear in my room’s window. my mom woke me up and asked me who i was grabbing and ask that person to stay. i was shock and till now, i am still wondering whether it was just a dream or isit a true encounter. christian friends told me it was my guardian angel. could it be a dream? or is she just a “passer-by”?
