TP will be celebrating its ethnic diversity at an event called “Global Community at TP” on 7 July (Friday) at Auditorium 2, Temasek Polytechnic, at 4.30pm.
It is part of TP’s continuous effort to promote a global mindset, awareness and experience amongst our staff and students, both local and international.
Indeed, at TP, we have a very vibrant international student community, giving rise to a melting pot of different cultures and adding to the already colourful student life here!
At this cultural event, TP will be receiving a Friendship Order from the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, conferred by His Excellency, Prof. Duong Van Quang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore.
Engineering lecturer, Mr Sonny Lim (TP lecturer, and part-time Playwright, Actor, Dancer and Director of the famed TP production, “Moon People”), will also be making his long-awaited dance debut at TP, with an Indian Classical Dance. – A must-see!

TP has fantastic food!!
Even sec school students who come here for workshops and catch their lunch in our canteens, have given the thumbs UP!!
I recommend the muslim food stall at BreadBoard canteen. Super cheap and value for money plus quite delicious. But it’s usually sold out by 1.00pm… so popular !!
You can order rice + dishes, or you can order any item on the menu. yOU order then they cook on the spot, right in front of you.
Check out the Mee goreng, and Nasi goreng… piping hot out from the wok. Add a fried egg, and some fried crab meat, and whack some sambal on the top, … whew.. simply delectable. As the malay would say, Super Sedap lah !!
All for….. guess the price??
$1.80 for a plate of rice + dishes including crab meat, tempes, tauhu, vege, n egg
$1.20 for a plate of fried Mee goreng or Nasi goreng (with egg, $1.50)

i’m looking fwd to the England vs Portugal match this Saturday. (1 July, 11.00pm)…
Gary Neville will be back – his first game for England since arriving in Germay… this guy didn’t even play a single game and already he’s injured. Seems very trendy these days for players to get injured on their own, even before playing. (Michael Owen did it once in the game against Sweden, he stepped on his own knee and twisted it.)
i can’t predict the score, (I’m studying Engineering at TP, not footballogy), but there’s a chance the following will happen:
- David Beckham will vomit on the pitch again (as he did agasint Ecuador)
- Crouch will commit at least 8-10 fouls on the defender when he jumps to head the ball
- Frank Lampard will shoot over the bar at least 5 times during the game
- Ferdinand will give away a penalty
- Rooney will get injured and replaced before the game ends
- England go home after the game
the candidates elected for ESC are out already.
you guys can just check it out on the notice board at the engine entrances.
do vote for your favourite candidate soon ya!

People People People…. listen up!!!! i bet you’ve heard of polys with external food companies in their polys but hey…. whats the point of paying so muc when TP’s canteens have like the greastest variety and taste of foods man….
For example, you want malay food, then go design school, you want budget food then go Engine school and if you want indian then just go to MENSA ( my personal fav…heheh). REally man…. i’ve tried all….ok ok most,, stalls in TP and i just am absolutely convinced that TP’s food courts can easily rival external food caterers man!!!
